Mike VE7KPZ and Jane VE7WWJ will be volunteering at the Pacific Forest Rally, September 26 - 28, 2019.

As per the event's volunteer plan (which can change) at 5 days before the event, we will most likely be working as the radio control station at two of the three spectator locations. We'll definitely be camping out in the Unimog's camper, affectionately known as the "Lunchbox", overnight on the course on Friday.

Due to an overwhelmingly strong response of amateur radio volunteers, the event is fully staffed up. However, Karl VE7ZDL also made it in as a volunteer "blocker" for all stages.

Come watch the event live from the official spectator locations (you'll very likely see us there) and bring your HT (and mobile) along to listen to the rally radio traffic. The event's radio operators leverage all of Merritt and area repeaters (VE7IRN 146.66-, maybe others) and many of the VHF simplex frequencies for event communications. FRS and GMRS are also heavily utilized with HAMs along the course acting as relay stations for FRS and GMRS operators.

Ps: if you would like to volunteer as a radio operator for a future rally, the next event is Big White Winter Rally in early December. Get your volunteer registration in early. ;)
