Our next club meeting is on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 7:30 PM Pacific Time.

Location: People Place @ 3402 27 Ave, Vernon

Many club members will also be meeting up beforehand at Boston Pizza, some hungry and ordering food as early as 4:30 PM.

If you are reading this but are not currently a club member, I would like to personally invite you to attend as my guest. Join me at dinner at BP before the meeting or, meet me at the People Place front door just before 7:30 PM.

This month, we have a little bit of regular business, including an update on where we're at with the club's WiresX node. However, we'll be moving the regular agenda on quickly as we also have a special guest speaker.

Ralph Olds will be speaking on "The Electron" and how its characteristics lead to understanding radio waves, propagation, reflections and antennas.

Ralph is an expert in many technical fields and the mind behind OCI - Olds Communications Inc. - a firm that engineers and builds RF filters for HAMs as well as custom commercial projects. I can't outline Ralph's full CV here, because it is very extensive (including working on IBM mainframe machine code at the Pentagon back in the 70s) so please approach him after the presentation to learn more about the night's topic and/or Ralph himself.

Really looking forward to the meeting,
Mike VE7KPZ
NORAC Vice President

Ps: here's the meeting agenda that we'll try to get through in the first 15-20 minutes before Ralph's presentation:
