Thanks to Ian at Dargal Solutions for his continued support of NORAC by donating his servers and web hosting.
Today Ian created a brand new location on his servers for a new club website and Aaren (VA7AEJ) and Sam (VE7SDV) started installing and configuring this new site based on Joomla.
Going into the future this dynamic new website will be a joint project for all members of NORAC who wish to participate.
- Members will be able to create and post their own Swap & Shop ads on the site (similiar to those you might find on Kijiji or eBay).
- More people will be able to create and post news and events notices.
- Members wanting to write technical articles or regular columns will be able to self publish on the site.
- Club Executives and Committees will be able to have their own sections of the site (if they wish) and manage their own content without having to go through a single person like a webmaster.
The current website still remains our primary presence on the internet at the URL of http://norac.bc.ca
This new website while under development will be available to everyone at the temporary address of http://new.norac.bc.ca
Eventually if everyone's happy with the new site it will take over the same address of the current site.
