VO2AC - A Contest DXPedition to Labrador (CQ Zone 2)

Chris Allingham VE3FU and Dave Goodwin VE3KG travelled to the Point Amour Lighthouse in southern Labrador in several Januarys to participate in the biggest 160 metre contest: the CQ WW 160 CW contest.  Labrador in January is a challenging place to travel.  Chris and Dave have done it three times, and plan to return in January 2023.  This is the story of how it went and why you shouldn't try it.

A brief note about me:

Dave VE3KG was first licensed in 1975 at age 15.  Dave is a keen CW op and HF contester.  He has tried many aspects of Amateur Radio.  Dave is originally from New Brunswick and has lived in many parts of Canada and overseas.  Dave is a volunteer with RAC, currently serving as the Regulatory Affairs Officer and teaches RAC's on-line Advanced certificate courses.  Dave is retired and lives near Bastard, Ontario, which is fairly close to his wife's home town of Almonte.
